Help Student Partners In Learning Today

Spilus is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in January 2013, with a focus on providing free tutoring services to disadvantaged groups. With the relentless efforts of our volunteers, primarily high school students, we have collaborated with Opportunity Centers and Boys & Girls Clubs to offer tutoring to hundreds of students in Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, and San Mateo. Over the past decade, especially during the three-year pandemic period, we have consistently provided free online tutoring to many Chinese immigrant students for English language learning.

Spilus's parent company, IvyGoal Education Co., was founded as a research-oriented educational institution. Fifteen years ago, we established Spilus under IvyGoal Education Co., leveraging modern information technology and collaborating with education experts in the Bay Area. We have been dedicated to developing English learning courseware specifically tailored for Chinese learners. In order to address the characteristics of native Chinese speaking students, we have spent nearly a decade delving deeply into research and investing significant funds to develop a comprehensive set of courseware covering various grade levels from elementary to high school, with over 40 textbooks. IvyGoal's English teaching courseware, uniquely designed for Chinese learners, employs the "natural repetition learning method," making learning effortless without the need for rote memorization.

In January 2023, IvyGoal's English teaching courseware received accreditation from the WASC of the U.S. Department of Education (one of the six internationally recognized school accreditations): students can advance one grade level in just 40 hours, and within a year, they can improve by four grade levels. Ninety percent of students can transition out of ELD (English Language Development) classes within a year and surpass native English proficiency within two years.

In 2023, Spilus non-profit organization capitalized on the curriculum development technology and experience of its parent company IvyGoal Education Co. to become a research institution focused on developing and disseminating "English Bible Study Courseware" for Chinese students.
